Today marks a monumental day for Ignite Power and for me personally. I am thrilled to share that Ignite Power has signed an agreement to acquire ENGIE Energy Access (Africa), creating  Africa’s largest full-range distributed renewable energy (DRE) provider.

The agreement represents an extraordinary milestone and the culmination of a decade of preparation, innovation, and commitment to delivering clean, reliable energy solutions to communities across Africa. With this achievement and a new name, Ignite Energy Access will soon operate in 14 countries, directly transforming the lives of 15 million people. Over 10,000 dedicated agents are on the ground, working tirelessly to bring sustainable innovation to every corner of the continent.

From Nigeria to Kenya, Mozambique to Senegal, Ignite Energy Access is ready to provide tailored, scalable solutions that address Africa’s diverse energy needs. Together, we are tackling one of the continent’s most pressing challenges: connecting the 600 million people who still lack access to electricity.

This accomplishment goes far beyond electrification. It’s about creating opportunities, improving education and healthcare, supporting gender equality, and fostering economic growth in the communities we serve. It underscores our mission to transform lives and drive sustainable development through clean energy.
